Side plate protection is an important asset for many scenarios, especially ones involving vehicle employment, room clearing, and training. In any situation, side plates give you the ability to scale up your protection. This offering features extra hard & light A2 side plates.
Made with top-grade steel, these plates are able to defeat 5.56x45mm M193, 5.56x45mm M855/SS109 at 3,150 FPS as well as AK-47 rounds (7.62x39mm) and .308 (7.62x51mm M80 NATO Ball) at 2,850 FPS.
These plates are compatible with any carrier that accepts side plates (the Testudo comes with side plate pouches built in; other carriers will require side plate pouches to put on the cummerbund). 6x6” side plates are sized to give ample side protection for users between the height range of 5’ 4” and 6’ 3”. These plates have 20 years of shelf-life-ensured protective capability.
The Trauma Pads, which are worn behind these plates, are a non-newtonian foam which significantly reduce a bullet’s impact and prevent backface deformation.
