5.56 Incendiary (API) vs. AR500 Armor® Level III Body Armor

By request we put our Level III Body Armor up against a Silver Tip 5.56 Incendiary API round with a hardened steel core. At just 30 yards and backed by our 70lb ballistic gelatin torso, the 5.56×45 round fails to penetrate after 3 rounds! The difference once the bullet impacts the strike face on this incendiary round can clearly be seen when compared to traditional FMJ and m855 5.56 penetrator round.
